The Autofacer® is the most robust and versatile back spotface, counterbore, chamfer, spherical cut, or profile cutting solution ever produced.

 
         
 

 

     
 

 

Autofacer’s are available in applications starting at 1/4” pilot hole size and up.

  •  Pilot sizes 5/8” and larger are standard with through the tool coolant and rotary pilot.

  •  Available in several different confi-gurations, engineered for use on modern CNC’s, transfer lines or manual equipment.

  •  Designed to run at high speeds and relatively low feed rates.

  •  Autofacers are actuated by internal friction clutches- allows tools to perform heavy interrupted cuts smoothly without excessive chatter.

  •  Ideal application tool for eliminating costly 2nd operations and saving time through process improvement.

  •  Chip to chip time lowered by as much as 80% over conventional methods.

Air or Coolant Pressure Activated

6000 Series Extended Range Autofacer

    • Allows for larger spotface to pilot diameter ratio’s.
    •Available Coolant Pressure or Torque Bar Activated.

instantaneous with either spindle reversal or turning on coolant-through-spindle.

deceleration to properly open & close

  Activating Cone or Bump Type

• Simple and functional design, well
suited for short to medium production runs.
• Sizes from 1/4” to 1-3/16” pilot
diameter are equipped with calibrated
brass shear pins to provide protection
from axial overload.
• Versatility: adaptable to CNC and

Heavy interrupted cuts are no problem due to friction clutch positively holding open cutter blade during cut.

Cycle time savings are enormous vs the old 2-piece method. 48 minutes per hole to under 5minutes per hole.

     An Extended Range Autofacer, using an indexable insert and master holder, machining a spotface in a differential case.

     Note that the extended range autofacer flips its cutting blade out like a jack-knife blade.

     This style of Autofacer is also supplied with a brazed carbide blade. Blades can be shaped to cut spherical radii, chamfers, steps, and various other profiles, either separately or in combination.
